XPIRED

I was in a band from 2018 to 2019 called Xpired. Well, as you can see, it has expired (due to creative differences). I owe a lot to this first band that I was in, as it sparked my desire to play in bands. I even played my first ever gig, which was at the Roxy Cabaret! I was only a teenager at the time!

We did write some originals, and I don’t want the music to be lost to time. So with permission from Ofek, the leader & guitarist of Xpired, I rerecorded (and finished) all the originals that we wrote. I let him play the solos for the authenticity as well. Oh, and a specific part of a song too. That part is too much for me.

“Deathly Thorns” was different. It was a song that I wrote the same time as Capstone EP, but asked Ofek to solo for. It didn’t fit the vibe of the other tracks in said EP, so I held it off for a while. Seeing how Ofek already played most solos for this EP, I figured now would be a good time to release it too.

  • You were always focused

    In other people's business

What they did and what they said

And every moment of their life

    Now that they're all gone

    And you are left alone

In a dark abandoned lonely world

To figure out what to do

    You can survive

    You learned it from them

But your reasons to live for

    Your reasons to live for

    Must remain, remain

    Unknown, unknown, unknown…

Once you look in the mirror

    Even just a glance

You'll find out who you are

    Or better who you were

    You would disappear forever

As if you were never there

    Your life has never mattered

    Nothing but death and despair

    Take yourself a moment

To look up to the sky

    You might find an answer

But it might make you cry

Now it's a little too late

To fix all that was wrong

You always thought it was hate

Now join us, where you belong

Once you look in the mirror

    Even just a glance

You'll find out who you are

    Or better who you were

    You would disappear forever

As if you were never there

    Your life has never mattered

    Nothing but death and despair

  • After the war, through the door

    Guess who was there

He was right there, waiting for me

    Summoned a flare

I felt the horror, took a step back

    Tried to escape

He brought me down, defeated me

    With a big scrape

    I, I am your fear

    I will make you see

    I, I am your death

    I shall be set free

    Rampage and Destruction

    A suffering curse

Tried to fight, dropped the nukes

    Only got worse

He opened his jaws, bursting flames

    An atomic breath

It was too late when we realized

    T'was the god of death

    I, I am your fear

    I will make you see

    I, I am your death

    I shall be set free

  • Everywhere I go, there's always something

    Bothering me, setting me apart

Nothing like these people, nobody around

Feel like I'm a revenant, with an empty heart

    Why can't I fit in?

    Why am I so weird?

    Why is life so unfair?

Or am I the one who's feared?

Nobody knows me, no one cares about me

Nothing that I do, ever gets attention

Who are they to say? Who are they to judge?

Ignorance can kill, that's the sad conclusion

    Why can't I fit in?

    Why am I so weird?

    Why is life so unfair?

Or am I the one who's feared?

This is a message, to who have crossed me

If you're hearing this, I suggest you run

Make this exciting, a game of cat and mouse

The impending doom, your life will soon be done

    I just won't fit in

    I am just so weird

    Life is just so unfair

Now I'm the one who's feared

    You'll soon be dead!

  • Walking through the flower bed

The flower bed that is all but dead

Blackness consumes and strikes you down

There's nothing worth taking back to town

And as you lose hope, you see a light

One light stands and shines so bright

Dragging you closer with a hidden hook

You just can't help but take a look

One deathly rose is calling you

Calling you deep in your heart

One deathly rose is calling you

The thorns on it grip you hard

Little deathly thorns on a rose

    Asking you if you bleed

Little deathly thorns on a rose

    Preying on your secret deeds

Mesmerized by the bright red light

Inside there's an urge that you cannot fight

The urge pulls you to pick up the light

Yet there's something that does not feel right

You start to feel the blood come out

No one around yet you cannot shout

    Dripping slowly off your hand

    Nothing went exactly as planned

One deathly rose is calling you

Calling you deep in your heart

One deathly rose is calling you

The thorns on it grip you hard

Little deathly thorns on the rose

    Asking you if you bleed

Little deathly thorns on the rose

    Preying on your secret deeds

    Hold onto the rose

    Never let go

    A slow quiet death

    No one can know

    Head's telling you

    You must let go

    A slow quiet death

    No one can know

    Just let it go!

One deathly rose is calling you

Calling you deep in your heart

One deathly rose is calling you

The thorns on it grip you hard

Little deathly thorns on the rose

    Asking you if you bleed

Little deathly thorns on the rose

    Preying on your secret deeds

    Until the day comes

When your hand could no longer fathom

    The loss of blood

Yet you stand in the field of dead roses

Longing to find a bright flower
